If you’re like me, you’ve probably got a wardrobe full of plastic coat hangers. Here’s something that’s way better: Green Hangers, which, funnily enough, are a light grey colour, but green in other ways.

The Green Hanger is a fully recyclable and biodegradable cardboard coat hanger made from 100% recycled material. Therefore, no trees are cut down specifically for the production of our hanger. Unlike other so called ‘environmentally friendly’ hangers, the Green Hanger production process doesn’t involve the use of harmful glues or inks therefore you can be sure that the hanger is produced with maximum care for the environment.”
At the moment, these hangers are only available in Oz. Though I noticed the BoBhanger is very similar and helps you make hangers using recycled water bottles! Magnifique.

Yours in enthusiasm,
April

See now this is GENIUS! I’m constantly trying to find ways to reduce my plastic consumption, and I have never once thought of hangers. And all of mine are plastics. Hundred of hard, never decompose in 1000 years and infect our oceans and fisheries and soil with pieces of plastic. Imagine if everyone had these green hangers. It’d be huge.
Daddy wants them now. Daddy needs! Let’s campaign to bring these to America (and the world) NOW!
Right on, Jordan. Hey, I just noticed something on the website that says “For international orders, email info@greenhanger.com.au“. So perhaps they will send ‘em over.
Should that fail, I’m happy to buy them on your behalf and post em to you.
Apes.
simple and functional the way it should be.
on the other hand, isn’t it possible to make your own from cardboard and bottles you already have laying around?
April, yes please. How much do they cost? And Paola… oh please oh pretty please make your own cardboard hangers and then post them to SuperForest so we can show the world how it’s done!
